“Have you given the horse its strength or clothed it’s neck with a flowing mane? Did you give it the ability to leap like a locust? It’s majestic snorting is terrifying! It paws the earth and rejoices in its strength. When it charges out to battle. It laughs at fear and is unafraid.”

The Book of Job

We take pride in raising our connemara Ponies so they’re friendly and ready for you!

About Us : Rick and Dale Doner

Century Hill Farm is located on the south east side of Lake Simcoe, just outside of the village of Beaverton, Ontario. We have been a small family operated farm for nineteen years and have been breeding Connemara ponies for sixteen years. We were first introduced to the breed through Jacqueline Harris after we had seen a photo of “Little Model” in front of Windsor Castle. This breed resonated with us as we both have Celtic roots!

We imported our first foundation mares, Eastlands Glendearg and Tatham’s Ballinanna, in 1996; between the two mares we have had thirteen lovely foals. Our breeding stock are all inspected and approved mares and stallions. Our goal over the years has been to produce “true to type” ponies that will excel in any discipline, to be, as equine author Bonnie Walford says, “perfect in temperament for children and have all the ‘heart’ an adult could wish for.” We have consistently seen these attributes in the ponies that we have produced here at Century Hill Farm and are excited to see how each new foal matures, develops and contributes to the breed.

Being a small breeding farm, we are able to handle our stock on a daily basis. We take the time to introduce them to many different experiences which gives them the confidence and trust to move forward quickly with their new owners.

If you would like to know more about our breeding program and meet our ponies in person, please feel free to contact us- we’d love to introduce you to our Connemara family!
